Charlie Elam, 60 years old, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 5, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. with visitation prior to, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Byram, MS from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Charlie was born on April 21, 1960 in Greenwood, MS to the late Charles Elam and Janette Elam. His family relocated to Jackson, MS where Charlie’s father worked for Entergy for 43 years. Charlie was a devoted husband to Dona Elam for 40 years, and a devoted father to his three children, Brandon, Garrett, and Peyton. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Charlie enjoyed his shop that he built himself, which was his pride and joy, where he also enjoyed working on trucks and SxS with his boys. He had a passion for motorcycles, whether he was riding one or working on one. Charlie’s world changed when his daughter, Peyton, came into his life. He enjoyed spending time with her and watching their favorite T.V. shows together. Charlie followed in his fathers’ footsteps devoting the last 40 years working for Entergy Mississippi, whether he was at home or traveling for storm damage. Mr. Elam was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Janette Elam. He is survived by his wife Dona Elam of Terry, his two sons Brandon Elam (Anna Claire Lay) of Terry, Garrett (Courtney) Elam of Florence and his daughter Peyton Elam of Terry.
