Mr. Thomas Edward Williams, 72, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the MS State Veteran’s Home in Jackson, MS. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories in Florence. Thomas was born October 25, 1948 in Benton, MS, son of the late John W. and Elizabeth W. Williams. He has lived in Florence the last 30 years, moving from Holly Bluff. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam for over 22 years, retiring in 1989. Following his retirement, he worked as a civilian at the VA Regional office as a file clerk. He loved fishing, computers, and wood working. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Charles, Donald, Wayne, Ray, and Paul; and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Williams of Florence; daughters, Amie (Yoni) Diaz of Florence and Ariel Williams of Florence; son, Gabriel Williams of Florence; grandchildren, Karen Cruz, Esmeralda Cruz, Oscar Cruz, Rudes Cruz, Angela Diaz, Olivia Diaz, Yoni Diaz, Bryan Pena, Hector Alvarado; great grandchild, Little Ed “Dude”; brothers, John (Mary) Williams of Ridgeland and Edward (Janet) Williams of Missouri; sisters, Juanita (Norton) Moore of Lexington, MS, Shirley (Keith) Brown of Dallas Fort Worth, TX, and Nancy (David) Doris of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
