Mr. A. V. Rice

Mr. A.V. Rice, 88, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Wednesday, August 26th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service all at Harrisville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Harrisville Cemetery. Mr. Rice was a member of Harrisville UMC. He worked in the maintenance department at Armstrong World Industry where he retired after 39 years. He enjoyed fast Dodge cars, tractors and farming, fishing, and buying and selling cars. His favorite hobby was hanging out at Roy Jennings service station. Mr. Rice is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ida (Dear) Rice and by his sister, Wilma Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Rice of Harrisville; sons, Joe (Jennifer) Rice and David Rice both of Harrisville; daughters, Angie (Bubba) Langston of Florence; Denise (David) Ware of Harrisville and Barbara Spencer of Florence; sister, Lurlene (Morris) Gordon of Harrisville; and 11 grandchildren.
