Mrs. Abbie M. Greer

Abbie Makamson Greer, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, December 28th from 1:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home, 7225 Siwell Road, Byram, MS. Burial will be at 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 29, at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, 18601 Highway 63, Moss Point, MS. Mrs. Greer was had lived in Florence for the last seven years, coming from South Jackson where she was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She currently attended Victory Congregational Methodist Church in Florence. The last of nine siblings, Mrs. Greer was a retired bookkeeper for the State of Mississippi Veterans Home Board. Mrs. Greer is survived by her husband, Alvin Greer of Florence; sons, Lee (Frances) Makamson of Hampton, VA and Ron (Eileen) Makamson of Edmond, OK; Stepchildren, Paul (Susan) Greer of Hartwick, NY, Gary Greer and Gail (Jim) Storment both of Florence; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
