Agnes W. Hollingsworth, 89, resident of Byram, died peacefully at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland on Monday August 17, 2020. There will be a service on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Byram at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South. Mrs. Hollingsworth was born on February 16, 1931 to Robert H. Winstead and Susie Storey Winstead. She married John S. Hollingworth, Sr. in 1951. Mrs. Hollingsworth completed Practical Nursing Education in 1972 at Hinds Junior College. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at University Hospital but spent much of her nursing career as a private duty nurse. She was an avid seamstress and found great joy in sewing for others. She was also known for her green thumb and her love for flowers and planting. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Byram, Woodville Heights Baptist Church and Daniel Memorial Baptist Church both of Jackson where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an active member of Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) for many years. Mrs. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Hollingsworth, Sr. She is survived by her two sons, John S. Hollingsworth, Jr. (Renee) of Byram and Robert Andrew “Andy” Hollingsworth (Jamie) of Byram, six grandchildren, Kristi Hollingsworth Goodson (Corey), Justin Hollingsworth (Vickie), Caleb Hollingsworth (Joy), Katie Hollingsworth Lum (Tyler), Johnna Hollingsworth and Michael Hollingsworth, a host of great-grandchildren, and one sister, Tiny Ferguson of Richton. Pallbearers are Justin Hollingsworth, Caleb Hollingsworth, Michael Hollingsworth, Corey Goodson, Tyler Lum, and Skyler Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers are Ian Hollingsworth, Hutson Hollingsworth, Evan Goodson, and Hayz Hollingsworth. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Byram, 7541 South Siwell Rd, Byram, MS 39272.
