Mrs.Aileen Hines died peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by her family and friends on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Visitation will be Friday, 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Saturday 8 a.m. until services at 9 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Richland. Burial will be in Holly Grove Cemetery, out from Braxton in Simpson County, MS.\ \ She was born Edith Aileen Harper to the late Thomas Jefferson Harper and Bessie Fife Harper on December 23, 1907 at Braxton in Simpson County, MS. She welcomed the birth of little sister Bessie on January 29, 1910. The next day her mother died and in August, baby Bessie died.\ \ Her father later remarried and from this union six more children were born, all preceding her in death. There were Arthur Ray, T.J., Zelma Lee, Jeanette, Ruth and David.\ \ Aileen first married Patrick Henry Keen of Braxton and they had one son, Henry Lee Keen, born August 31, 1925. Being only nineteen years old at the time of his death, he died March 11, 1945 on Iwo Jima, Japan during World War II.\ \ Aileen later married James Vardaman (Turk) Hines and to this union two daughters were born, Betty and Linda. Aileen became a widow in 1969 and Betty died in 1971.\ \ She is survived by her daughter Linda and son-in-law Donnie, grandson, Don Goff and his wife Gaylynn and their children, Beth, Trey and Jason and granddaughter Kelly Goff Wedgeworth and her husband Bob, and her sons, Jeremy Lee, Caleb Lee and Ty Wedgeworth. She is also survived by granddaughter, Melody L. Smith and her husband Mike and Melody's son, Nick and granddaughter Holly Lebegern. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.\ \ If you wish to do so, you may honor her memory by making a donation in her name to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 255 Richland Circle, Richland, MS 39218.\
