Mr. AJ Gonzalez

Albert Posner “AJ” Gonzalez passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at his home in Pearl. He was 36 years old. AJ was born on December 10, 1985, in Brooklyn, NY, to Alberto and Shari Gonzalez. AJ was known for his heart of gold and always being “the favorite”. He loved talking to people and making people laugh, helping others in any way he could, always advocating for what is right, and making everyone feel accepted and valued. He was passionate about cooking, grunge music, history, the NY Giants, playing guitar, and movies. His wife, Carlie, was the love of his life; and his children, Tyler and Timlie, were his whole heart. He was loved by everyone he met and adored by his family. His time was cut way too short, but his memory and impact will be cherished by all. AJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Sara Posner; his aunt, Reina Schwartz; and his father in law, Timothy Dortch. He is survived by his wife, Carlie Dortch Gonzalez; his children, Tyler and Timlie Gonzalez; his parents, Alberto and Shari Gonzalez of Long Island, NY; his sister, Melissa (Rob) Granelli of Greenwood, SC; his nephews, Gio and Gabriel Granelli; his paternal grandparents Junny and Aly Gonzalez of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
