Albert Fortenberry of Brandon, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at home. Al was a long time resident of south Jackson and member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church. Al and his family were also long time members of Epworth United Methodist Church prior to its closing. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and sitting in his swing at home. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Fortenberry, his parents, C.E. Fortenberry and Ruby McClelland Fortenberry, his sisters, Cecille Black, Dorothy Purvis and Ann Grant, his brothers, Talmedge Fortenberry, Dallas Fortenberry and Dennis Fortenberry. He is survived by his children, Gail Blackburn of Brandon and Chuck Fortenberry of Pearl as well as his grandson, Nathan Blackburn, Nathan’s wife Apryl and great grandsons, Beckett and Keller Blackburn all of Key Largo, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Patterson of Dallas, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews and very special friend, Sara Ferguson. Services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Visitation will be held at Chancellor on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 5pm-7pm, with services also at Chancellor on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10am. Burial will be at Lakewood South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Blair E. Batson Childrens Hospital, Forest Hill United Methodist Church or your favorite Charity.
