Mrs. Alecia Marie Anderson Shields went to her Heavenly home too soon, at the age of 37, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in Ruskin, Florida after her year-long battle with cancer. Born on March 28, 1981 in Jackson, Mississippi, to Dell Holmes McCauley and Steven Ralph Anderson, Alecia was the loving wife of John “JB” Shields. Along with her husband, parents and her stepmother, Daleen Anderson, she is also survived by her precious children, Savanna, Brantley, and Austin; her brother, Jacob Anderson; sisters, Sacia Findlay, Stefanie Henderson, and Della Anderson; stepbrothers, Daniel Allman, Steven Allman, and Greg Allman; and grandmothers, Peggie Holmes and Lillie June Anderson. Alecia attended the University of Southern Mississippi and happily chose to be a stay at home mother to her three children. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, sewing, crafts, snowboarding, and pinterest, but nothing gave Alecia more joy than making every day special for her children. Whether it was museums, parks, libraries, zoos, movies, or vacations, she loves to go and see her children smile. She was a very loving and generous person who carried others burdens and brought smiles and laughter to everyone. The best wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left many with priceless memories and already greatly missed. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation on Saturday, November 10th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 342 W. Main Street, Florence, Mississippi, 39073. The service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location and all are welcome to follow to the graveside service afterwards at the Shields Family Cemetery. Chancellor Funeral Home of Florence, MS is helping the family with the arrangements.
