Alice Elliot

Alice Elliott, 81, passed away Thursday, June 09, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday, June 11th at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence from 12 until the 2pm service. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland. \ \ Mrs. Elliott retired after over 25 years with Jackson Public Schools where she was the secretary to the Superintendent of Education. She loved to grow flowers. \ \ She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Irene Warren Volcek; 2 brothers, Bill and Gerald "Cork" Volcek; and sister, Irene "Babe" VanSant. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Jim Elliott of Florence; sons, George Strack, David Strack, Robert Strack all of Hattiesburg and James Wesley Strack of Richland; daughters, Tracy Horner of Richland and Terri Lindsey of Raymond; sister, Rita Gannett of Omaha, NE; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.\ \ In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at FBC Richland or to your favorite Charity.\
