Mrs. Alice Laverne Hasie

Alice Laverne Hasie of Richland passed away at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland on Friday, March 19, 2021. She was 73 years old. There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m. at Briar Hill Community Cemetery in Florence on Sunday, March 21st. Alice was born June 24, 1947 in Canton, MS to the late Talmadge and Ruby Bates. She was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teach for 32 years. She worked with the MS State Tax Commission as a Tax Analyst. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside and loved hunting and fishing. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roger Bates and Paul Bates. Alice is survived by her husband, Vick Hasie of Richland; her sons, Thomas “Mack” (Paula) Hasie of Hinds County, MS, Richard Douglas Hasie of Mobile, AL, and Vick Jr. “Bubba” Hasie of Florence; her grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Gustafson, Taylor Hasie, Gabby Hasie, Jessie Hasie, Jeremiah Hasie; and her great granddaughter, Libby Claire Gustafson.
