Allen Lichte

Mr. Allen Lewis Lichte, 68, fought a courageous battle with cancer for 13 years and went to be with his Lord on August 6, 2008 at the University Medical Center. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with interment following at Florence City Cemetery.\ \ His life leaves behind his family remembering him as "the world's greatest Grampy", a man that was strong in his faith in Christ and a man that never took on a project that didn't succeed. He loved to teach his children and grandchild. He loved gardening and worked for Diamond Offshore Drilling for 35 years. He was a deacon and member of Gum Springs Baptist Church in Braxton.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Melba Lichte of Florence; two daughters: Angela (Jules) Perret of Florence, Kimberly ( Sudha) Madakasira of Brandon; granddaughter, Amisha Madakasira; brothers: Ronald Lichte, Alfred Lichte both of Magee, William Lichte of Satartia; sister, Cordelia Clark of Magee.\
