Mr. Allen W. "Dub" Ward, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Saturday from 9 am until the 10 am service in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.\ \ Mr. Ward was a member of ChristWay Church of God. He was a great man of God who passionately loved the Lord with simple child-like faith. He worked tirelessly for his church as a Sunday School teacher, Pastor's council member, running a bus ministry, operating firework stands donating the profits to his church, and visiting the elderly and sick. For years, he owned and operated Ward's Bargain Barn and Fireworks on Hwy 49 South where he continued his ministry until his own ailing health prevented him from doing so. He leaves a rich legacy to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed, but he is now with his Savior, rejoicing in Heaven.\ \ He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mert Ward; sons, Houston (Jan) Ward and Douglas (Ruthie) Ward; daughter, Kathey Lunn; brother, Everett Ward; sisters, Eunice Lee and Mary Mitchell; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren\
