Aloma Faye Bridges

Aloma Faye Bridges went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 8, 2024, at her home in Harrisville, MS. She was 79 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, and again on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Georgetown, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday followed by interment at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Faye was born on April 22, 1944, to Ernest J. Barron and Maude Bennett Barron in Harrisville, MS. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she served as their organist for many years. Faye loved her church family and enjoyed gathering as the body of Christ on a regular basis. She considered her unity family as one of her own family. She loved the Lord, and she LOVED her family. Mrs. Faye was a Godly Christian Lady and enjoyed singing with the Praise Singers Gospel Group for years. Singer and song writer, she loved writing gospel songs and putting the music to them. Faye loved canning, gardening, and reading books. She loved to cook and have family gatherings. You never went hungry at Mrs. Faye’s, or went without. To know her was to love her. She will truly be miss by all.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, E.J. and Maude Barron; sisters, Annie Ruth Jordan, and Beneva Dreding; and brother, James Barron. She is survived by the love of her life of 61 years, Charles “Dub” Bridges of Harrisville; children, Tammy Bourg (Troy), Tina Bennett (Paul), and Charles Bridges (Prudence) all of Harrisville; sister-in-law, Pam Barron; like a sister, Sandy Cockrell; neighbor and BFF for 52 years, Mary Mullins; grandchildren, Gregory Carman (Brittany), Brittany Smith (Patrick), Adam Bennett (Brittany), Jordan Ingram (Steven), Corey Bennett, Tanner Bennett (Kristy), and Lexie Bridges; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a charitable donation to St. Jude's hospital.
