Alton "Slick" Wayne Allday, Sr., 75, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, December 11, 2015 and 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Saturday, December 12, 2015, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Springridge UMC Cemetery. Mr. Allday lived in Terry since 1979 having come from South Jackson. He was a Lineman for Fountain Construction for 23 years and a member of IBEW Local #605, retiring from #480. Mr. Allday owned and operated Allday’s One Stop on Springridge Rd. and famous for his “Slickisms”. He was a great husband, Dad, Pop and Pop Pop. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny Jefferson Allday and Oma Versa Oswalt Allday; brothers Raymond & Charles Allday. Survivors include his wife Lenita Allday of Terry; son Alton “Bubba” (Malinda) Allday of Byram; daughter Debbie (Marty) Dodson of Terry and Kathy “Tutti, Jr” (Nathan) Friday of Clinton; brothers Curtis (Martha) Allday of Terry, John Paul (Ola Mae) Allday of Cleburne, TX, Erbie (Juanita) Allday of Terry and Orville Allday of Pearl; sisters Maxine Harrington of Syracuse, NY, Earline Thornhill of AL and Jean Manisel of IN; grandchildren Michelle Evans, Justin Long, Cody Allday, Casey Allday, Caylee Allday; great grandchildren Sydney, Tanner, Fisher and Madisyn; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of Race friends.
