Ann Coker Turbville

April 17, 1947 — August 9, 2024

Florence

Ann Coker Turbville of Florence born April 17, 1947 was finally healed Friday, August 9 after a long and courageous cancer battle, of 15 years. However, she did not let that define her. She fought with grace and humility not only for herself but mostly for her family. Her focus was always on her family and she loved spending time with them. Her kindness and love for others was felt by everyone that knew her and saw her sweet smile. Her family surrounded her with love during her battle and were with her when she died peacefully at her home.

Ann was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi and grew up in Harperville. She attended Scott Central High School where she was voted Miss Scott Central and graduated salutatorian of her class. She married her high school sweetheart Ken Turbville and they moved to Florence in 1977. Ann was retired from Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flowerbeds and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and attended a Sunday School class with a group of ladies that she loved.

Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, JW and Ruby Coker, and her husband of 50 years Ken Turbville. She is survived by her children, Robin (Keith) Boteler, Jeff (Paige) Turbville, and two sisters Janet (Larry) Driskell and Debora Thomas. She is also survived by grandchildren Dylan (Haley) Boteler, Bailey (Alex) Bynum, Brennan (Blake) Lewis, and Cassidy Jo Turbville, as well as two great grandchildren, Kasen Lewis, and Millie Boteler.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her personal caregiver and friend Norma Bolden, who went above and beyond to do whatever for “Mrs. Ann”. We would also like to offer sincere gratitude to Dr. Qu and the nursing staff at Jackson Oncology Associates, as well as Drs. Martin, Monico and Mitema and the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care of Brandon. They treated her more than a patient but as a family friend.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13 at 11 AM with a service following at 1 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS with Rev. Lance Varner officiating. Pallbearers will be Alex Bynum, Chad Driskell, Jason Driskell, Jackson Driskell, John Driskell, and Blake Lewis.
