Annie Jean Slawson Covey

Mrs. Annie Jean Slawson Covey, 78, of Brandon passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with interment in Lakewood South Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday and 11 a.m. until service time on Friday.\ \ Mrs. Covey was a member of the MS Air National Guard NCO Auxiliary at state and local levels for many years. She worked at Trilogy in Pearl until her retirement. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 112 and held many position within the legion for many years. She was able to do all of this and raise a large loving family as well.\ \ She was preceded in death by her father, J. W. Wilson; her first husband, James Audrey Slawson; a son, Steve Slawson; daughter, Joyce Slawson Thrash; a brother, J. S. Wilson; and a grandson, Andy Thrash.\ \ She is survived by her current husband, Robert W. Covey; mother, Allie Gregory; a twin sister, Mary Cashion; two sons, James W. Slawson and Bobby R.
