Arthur Alford

Mr. Arthur N. Alford, Sr., 82, went to be with the Lord from his home in Florence, Monday, October 13, 2008. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services are Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.\ \ After serving in the U.S. Navy Mr. Alford lived in Jackson for over 30 years prior to moving to the Florence area. He was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church and an electric motor repairman for Flannigan Electric.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Velma Alford of Florence; sons: Arthur N. (Linda) Alford Jr. of Brandon, Michael Sim (Vicki) Alford of Terry, Davis Eugene (Shirley) Alford of Nashua, NH and Richard Loret (Gina) Alford of Brookhaven; daughters: Joyce (James) Johnston of Richland, Jenny Elaine (Billy) Warren of Florence; brothers: David Alford of Waterproof, LA, Marvin Alford of Pearl, and Ulyess Alford of Crystal Springs; sisters: Jenny Windham of Pearl, Kathy Pauser of Cold Springs, MN and Julia Wilson of Tulsa, OK; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.\ \
