Arthur L. Land, III

Arthur Land, 37, a commercial diver, known as Trae to family and childhood friends, and as Art to coworkers, died Thursday June 21, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be held Sunday June 24, 2012 from 5 until 8 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, and Monday the 25th at First Baptist Church in Durant, MS from 12 noon until a 2pm funeral Service at the church. Interment will follow in Mizpah Cemetery in Durant.\ Trae was born in Jackson, MS to Arthur L. and Anne Douglas Stringer Land. A graduate of East Holmes Academy, and he attend Holmes Community College. He had been employed by Epic Diving and Marine Company in Bell chase, LA for the last 15 years.\ Survivors include wife, Shawna Bonner Land; his parents, Art and Anne Land; step-daughter Alyssa Monk; Brothers: Jeffrey Reed (Abbey) Land, Robert Douglas (Alyson) Land; niece & nephews Joshi, Reed, Nash, Will, and Tucker Land.\ In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made to Jochaebed's Hope, Inc. What a comfort to his family and what a testimony this is to his family and friends.\ \
