Ashton James Brewer, 8 years old, is at peace in the arms of Jesus. He passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends after a long battle with Melanoma. Visitation will be Thursday, November 6th from 5-8 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Friday, November 7th from 1 PM until the 2 PM funeral service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Johnson Family Cemetery in Crystal Springs. Ashton loved God and reading his bible. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and attended Simpson Central School, which he loved. He loved WWE and wrestling with his brother. He underwent multiple surgeries throughout his life to remove a mole from his back and for the last two years, battled Melanoma. He was an inspiration to everyone he met and always had a smile on his face. Ashton is preceded in death by his grandfather, Timothy James Brewer. He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Brandi Brewer; brother, Bryson Brewer; grandparents, James and Laura Whitty and Clay and Elizabeth Groom; great grandparents, Mary Owen and J.C. Brewer; aunts and uncles, JD and Ashton Whitty, Kacy Whitty, Keisha and Randy Johnson, and Michael Groom; and cousins, J., Jeremiah, Piper, Ean, Paizley, Olivia, Brook, Christian, and Layla. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ashton’s Home away from Home, St. Jude Hospital. He met many friends there and enjoyed clowning with his Doctors and nurses.
