Austin Ray

Austin King Ray, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1st from 5 to 8 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be Friday, November 2nd at 1:00 with visitation beginning at 12 followed by interment at Terry Cemetery.\ Mr. Ray was born in Morton, MS to the late Aron & Nellie Harrell Ray and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He loved riding horses and motorcycles and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Dixie Region Team Penning Association.\ He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leroy Ray, Floyd Ray and sister, Doris Glass. Survivors include his wife, Anita Ray of Crystal Springs, son, Lynn Ray (Janlyn) of Terry: daughters Debbie Shaw (Carl) of Hendersonville, NC and Sharon Hood (Robert) of Terry; step-sons Scott Turnage of Crystal Springs, Keith Turnage (Amber) of Flowood and Corey Turnage (Colleen) of Pearl and 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. \ \ Online guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com\ \
