Avery Jerald Ainsworth, Sr

Mr. Avery Jerald Ainsworth, Sr., 97, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Baptist Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 10:00 AM until Noon at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Mr. Ainsworth’s funeral will be at noon also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson MS. Mr. Ainsworth was a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army during WW II and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Ainsworth was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Blount Ainsworth; his son, Ricky Joe Ainsworth; his sisters, Blanche Duff, Wildred Cook, and Willie Rae Mitchell. He is survived by his son, Dr. Jerald (Dorothy) Ainsworth, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; his daughter, Linda (Cliff) McMurphy of Byram, MS; brothers, Jessie Lynn Ainsworth of Crystal Springs and Max T.
