Mrs. Avis Christine Carmical, 79 died on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at her home in Byram. Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 4-7 pm and Monday 10-11 am at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be Monday at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park South.\ \ Mrs. Carmical loved cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of Davis Road Baptist Church. She was very active in church activities which included helping and taking care of the sick. She loved working with children. They always brought a smile to her face. \ \ She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Russell Carmical of Byram; son, Ronnie and wife Kay of Terry; daughter Pam Johnson and husband, Dick of Byram; brothers: Hugh Bates and wife Amelia of Kentwood, LA, Authur Bates of Byram; sisters: Sylvia Stilper and husband Rick of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Hall and husband Billy of Amite, LA; 3 grandchildren: Rhonda, Cindy and Melissa; 5 great grandchildren: Kameron, Angela, Crews, Bryce and Maddox.\
