Mrs. Barbara Sue Cathey

Barbara Sue Cathey, 83, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at UMMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 1:00pm until the 2:00pm funeral service, Thursday, August 18 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Mrs. Cathey was born in Cassville, MO to the late Sherman and Florence Smith Turner. She had lived in Terry since 2009, having lived previously in MO, KY and SC. Her profession was registered nurse, and she was active with Clemson University Extension Program, and was a troop leader for Brownies. Mrs. Cathey loved to travel with her late husband upon their retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cathey; brothers and sisters, Janice Young, Karen Brock and James Turner. Survivors include her daughter Lynette Gevedon (Doug) of Terry; son, Clark S. Cathey (Betty) of Elberta, AL; grandchildren, Heather Cathey, Justin Cathey, Lauren Gevedon,Kristin Gevedon; great grandchildren, Aidan Pena and Tristin Storey.
