Barbara Nell Forrester

Barbara Nell Forrester passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  She was 84 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at Gunter Road Baptist Church in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Family and friends will re-convene for the burial at 3:30 p.m. at Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Ethel, Mississippi.

Mrs. Barbara was born on August 4, 1938, to the late Vernon Cross and Cordie Braswell Cross in Vaiden, Mississippi. After retiring from her secretarial position at Colonial Bakery, Barbara served many years as the secretary at Gunter Road Baptist Church.  She was an active and dedicated member. Barbara may have been small in size, but she had a HUGE heart.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Irving Forrester.  She is survived by her sister in laws; Ada (Glenn) Sailer of Evergreen, CO and Jane Bennett of Charleston, SC; sister, Vonnie (James) Brooks of Vicksburg; stepbrother, Travis (Susie) Hester of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews.
