Barbara R. Moore Nix, 59, died Tuesday, May 12th, 2009, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17th at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS, from 1 -3pm with chapel service at 3pm. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories, Chancellor Funeral Home. \ Ms. Nix was born September 6th, 1949, in Vardaman, MS, to her parents Leon S. Moore and Willie Jean Moore Stafford. She grew up in the Big Creek and Calhoun City areas before moving to West Point, MS, where she graduated high school. She moved to and lived in the Jackson, MS area before moving to Florence, MS, where she lived for the rest of her life. \ Barbara was formerly married to James A. Bramlett of West Point, MS and John Jefferson Nix of Bruce, MS. She loved her two sons, David and Johnny, dearly. She received a degree in Criminal Justice from Hinds Community College. She worked at the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for 13 years in Boat Registration and at the Department of Public Safety for 11 years in the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation as Senior Criminal Analyst. Barbara loved her work in Investigation. She was of Baptist Faith. \ Barbara is survived by her sons James David Bramlett of Hattiesburg, MS and John Wayne Nix of Pearl, MS; her sister Jeanne and brother-in-law Jerry Lantrip Sr. of West Point, MS; and niece Tammy Lantrip of Philadelphia, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon S. Moore and Willie Jean Moore Stafford, stepfather Leo Stafford, and nephew Jerry Lantrip, Jr. \ The family of Barbara Nix would like to thank the staff of University Medical Center and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, her friends and her co-workers. The family would like to especially recognize Dr. Wade Banker and the Interventive Radiology staff, Margaret Holmes, Maj. Larry Waggoner, Maj. Stanley Sisk, Linda Sullivan, Maxine Daniels, Judy Huggins, Helen Skinner, Florence Gaines, Tabitha Batton, Jimmy Laird, and Wes Luckey.
