Mrs. Barbara Winterstein

Barbara Jean Spell Winterstein, 89, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 9am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Mrs. Winterstein was born in Hammond, LA to the late Vernon and Grace Battle Spell. Living in South Jackson since 1953, she retired from the retail business at Gayfers Department Store and sang in the Senior Adult Choir at First Baptist Church of Jackson. Since 1990, Mrs. Winterstein was a member of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl William Winterstein, Jr.; son Mark and grandchildren Brian, Brittany, Bradley Winterstein. Survivors include her sons, Earl (Carol) Winterstein III of Florence and Roddy (Jo) Winterstein of Jackson; grandchildren, Damian Winterstein and Christie (Taylor) Lyle; and great grandchildren, Landry Lawson and Lily Lyle.
