Bennie Joyner\ Pearl, Mississippi\ \ Bennie Noel Joyner, 73, died September 26, 2009, at River Oaks Hospital in Rankin County. Visitation will be 2-6 pm Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Monday 12-2 pm. prior to the 2 pm service at the funeral home chapel.\ Mr. Joyner is preceded in death by sons Bennie Joyner, Jr., and James Joyner; daughter Judy Gayle Thompson; sisters Jean Cooksey, Faye Tatum, Jewel Womack; brothers Henry Joyner and Douglas Joyner.\ Mr. Joyner was a Baptist and a member of Ephephus Baptist Church in Forest, Miss. He had served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Deposit Guaranty National Bank for several years as an electrician. He was a member of IBEW local 480, and a member of the Woodmen of the World.\ He is survived by son Jimmy Travis Patterson of Brandon; daughter Michelle Van Gordon of Pearl; brothers Sidney Joyner, Jr. of Pasadena, Texas and Dale Joyner of Brandon, Miss.;sisters Mildred May Knight of Pearl, Miss., Doris Ward of Richland, Miss., and Bessie Jo Hodge of Utica, Miss.; along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.\
