Mr. Benton "Benny" Harris Crain

Benton “Benny” Harris Crain, 77, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10th at Chancellor Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence. Benny was born July 16, 1941 to Joseph and Bessie Shack Crain in Rankin County, MS. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence. He worked as “The Tile Man” installing tile and marble. Benny cared deeply about his family, especially his children and his grandchildren. He had a passion for life and lived life to its fullest. Mr Crain is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Bessie Crain; a brothers, John Earl Crain and Joe D. Crain; sisters Mildred Brinson and Sandra Crain. Mr. Crain is survived by his sons, Joey Crain of Biloxi, MS, Scotty (Catalina) Crain of Maryland and Benton (Callie) Crain of Guntown, MS; daughter, Autumn Crain (James) Casey of Lambert, MS; step-daughter, Tracy (Pete) Patino and Tania (Fred) Iturralde both of Naples, FL; brother, James Lee Crain of Florence; sisters, Wanda Cook of Purvis, Bessie Meryl Floyd of Richland and Janice (Bobby Joe) Snell of Harrisville; and 9 beloved grandchildren.
