Miss Bessie Maxine Newton

Bessie Maxine Newton, 74 , passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Wednesday, December23, 2015, 9:30am until the 11:30am funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Raymond Cemetery. Miss Newton was a native of Panama City, FL, moving to the Jackson/Raymond area in the early 1970’s. She retired from Bellsouth after 31 years of dedicated service and was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. She is preceded in death by her parents Alto C. Newton and Willie Mae Strickland Newton and her brother Durwood Newton. Survivors include her longtime friend Patsy Williams and her family, who welcomed Maxine as their family for the last 40 years.
