Betty Lewan Boteler

Betty Lewan Boteler went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Springtown, TX. She was 81 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, and again from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 following Saturday’s visitation. There will be no graveside service.

Betty was born on October 14, 1942, to Ivan Odell Womack and Betty Christine Womack in Mendenhall, MS. She graduated from Mendenhall High School and later in life received her BS as a Registered Nurse from Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. Betty worked at Hinds General Hospital as an RN and Assistant Director to the Head Nurse. She went on to serve as Head Nurse at MS State Hospital where she retired after 18 years. After retirement Betty enjoyed traveling, playing Bunco, and volunteering at First Baptist of Brandon, MS. She attended Oak Forest Church with her family for 20 years.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Betty Womack and her husband, Herman Grant Boteler, Sr. She is survived by her son, Herman Grant Boteler, Jr. daughter, Christi B. Thurman (Gregg); grandchildren, Julie Orders (Steven), Paige McCrory (Caleb), Lauren Batson (Eric), Ragan Baugus (Justin), and Laci Thurman; 5 Great Grandchildren, Colton Orders, Lilly and Lainey Batson, and Hayden and Haddie Baugus; and her sisters, Brenda Franklin (Jimmy), and Tammy Smith.
