Mrs. Betty Lou Moorhead

Betty Lou Moorhead, 72, of Richland, MS, passed into the arms of Jesus on the night of Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Considering the current situations, the family has agreed to hold a memorial service for all friends and family at a later date. Mrs. Moorhead was born March 13, 1948 to Ernest and Brilla Rice in Harrisville, MS where she was raised. She attended and graduated from Harrisville High School. She lived the next 54 years in Richland with her spouse, James Doyle Moorhead. She was a Christian woman, even though she did not attend church every Sunday, she made sure to watch it live on television every Sunday morning. She adored children and even had a daycare in her home for many years where she also watched her grandchildren grow. She was a very kind and caring woman that devoted everything she had to her family. She was always putting others before herself. Mrs. Moorhead loved the outdoors. She also enjoyed listening to music, cooking and spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mrs. Moorhead is also preceded in death by her brother, Wilburn Rice and her sister, Gelene Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Doyle Moorhead; son, Jeff (Angela) Moorhead; daughter, Becky (David) Fisher; granddaughters, Brandi Moorhead and Payton Fisher; grandson, Cody Moorhead; brothers, Gary Rice, Thomas Rice, Fred Rice, and Kenneth Rice; sisters, Annie Mae Lawrence, Linda Sue Berry, Dorothy Humphries, and Rita Ann Breeden.
