Mrs. Betty Jean Norton

Betty Jean Norton passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Copiah Living Center in Crystal Springs at age 79 from complications of Congestive Heart failure. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, July 28, 2015 and 9am until the 10am funeral service Wednesday, July 29, 2015, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Rosemont Gardens. Mrs. Norton was born in Douglasville, Texas to James Clifton and Velma Lee Marlar. She lived a life dedicated to her family. She was the Mother of five children who she raised to know God and gave all the love a wife and Mother could give. She later was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren who she enjoyed and loved so dearly and they loved their “Mamaw”. If you ever saw her then you would have been greeted with a big beautiful smile because she never met a stranger. To her you were not a stranger, you were a child of God. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Lee Norton; her parents James Clifton Marlar and Velma Lee Marlar; her sister Dorothy Johnson; her brother Ray Marlar; and her grandson Billy Puckett. She is survived by her children Davey Gene Norton (Cathy) of Terry, Kathy Marascalco (Ricky) of Terry; Ann Puckett (Al) of Terry; Tina Martin of Byram; Stacey Norton (Pam) of Brandon; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
