Mrs. Betty Sue Peavy

Betty Sue Peavy, 83, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5th from 5-8 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 6th at 10 AM with visitation one hour before at First Baptist Church of Richland. Burial will follow at Florence Cemetery. Mrs. Peavy was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland and a graduate of Florence High School where she was Homecoming Queen and Ms. Florence High School. She worked for the MS State Pharmacy Board for many years. Mrs. Peavy is preceded in death by her husband William “Mac” Peavy; son, Michael “Mike” Alan Sims; parents, Estus Quitman and Bettie Johnnie English Smith; siblings, Archie Leroy Smith, Allie Christine Smith Clark, Marjorie Cordell Smith Wynne, Odell Smith Hill, Iva Elise Smith Phelps, and Estus Quitman Smith; She is survived by her sons, Nolan Dean Sims (Odessa) of Crystal Springs and Jeffrey Lynn Sims (Lana) of Richland; step daughter, Cindy Peavy Lewis (Ron) of Lake Charles, LA; daughter-in-law, Dale Sims of Richland; granddaughters, Haley Lynn Sims and Kelsey Marie Sims.
