Mrs. Betty Langdon Shelby

Betty Langdon Shelby, 85, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Jaquith Nursing Home. Visitation will be 9:00am until the 11:00am funeral service Saturday, March 1, 2014, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Private interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Shelby was born in Magnolia, MS to the late Sylvester and Lavessie Davis Langdon. She had lived in Jackson since 1964, working for Workman’s Comp Commission, part time at Gayfers and was a homemaker. Mrs. Shelby loved playing Bridge and was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Survivors include her husband Mason Shelby of Florence; sons, Jay Shelby (Carolyn) of Terry, Frank Shelby (Audrey) of Florence and Gus Shelby (Cheryl) of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Chad, Kirby, Mason, Jess, Rebecca, April and Jake; great grandchildren, Kylee and Skylar.
