Mrs. Betty Trest

February 9, 1942 — July 31, 2016

Betty Louise Trest, 74, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 3 at Parkside Baptist Church and the family will have a private burial. Mrs. Trest, a longtime Raymond resident, was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Parkside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was honored to place flowers from her yard on some Sundays. Mrs. Trest loved to cook, work in her flower beds and most of all, she loved her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie James Lilley and Willie Mae Garrett Lilley and five siblings. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Don Trest of Raymond; daughters, Donna Corkern (Kevin) of Clinton and Jennifer Barnett (Tony) of Utica; grandchildren, Jeff Harper, Brittney Moore (Daniel) and Jacob Barnett; great granddaughter, Rylee Kris Moore; brother, Donald Lilley (Sharon) of MO; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
