Bettye Higgs

Bettye Nell Higgs, 78, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 27, 2010 at MS Baptist Medical Center. Visitation with family will be 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with Memorial Service following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.\ \ Mrs. Higgs, a graduate of Biloxi High School, Biloxi, MS retired with over 20 years of service from the state of Alabama as Unemployment Compensation Manager. She left a legacy of being a woman of honesty, truthfulness and dependability; one that loved her family and friends. She was very creative with flower arranging, cake decorating and an incredible artist. She was last a member of Yarbrough Street Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.\ \ She is survived by her husband, Burlie Higgs of Flowood; son, Glenn Michael Higgs and wife, Linda of Brandon; sisters: Jacqueline Hickman of Biloxi and Carole Brown of St. Martin; 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.\ \ Family requests memorials be made to...
