Mr Bid Owens

Lt. Col Bidwell A. Owens, Sr., U. S. Army Retired, 88, went to be with His Lord Friday, June 17, 2016. Visitation is 5pm-8pm Monday, June 20, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home, and again 10am Tuesday at First Baptist Church Terry. Funeral services are 11am Tuesday June 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church Terry with 2pm graveside service at Alex Sullivan Cemetery in Mize, MS. Mr. Bid retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service and went on to spend 14 years with Jackson Public Schools ROTC program. He was a 32degree Mason and member of the Leavell Woods Lodge #620, a Past Grand Patron of MS, and Past Patron and member of Leavell Woods Chapter Order of Eastern Star #342, Jackson. A longtime member of McDowell Road Baptist Church and First Baptist Byram, Mr. Bid was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Terry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Geraldine “Boots” Owens. Mr. Bid is survived by sons Butch (Margaret) Owens of Springhill TN, and Robert (Felecia) Owens of Terry; daughters Naomi Lewis of Ridgeland and Gerry Hull of Terry; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
