Billie Jean Barron

Billie Jean Barron, known to friends and family as “BJ”, passed away on November 10, 2024, in Mississippi. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and dog mom.  She was born on October 17, 1940, to Bill Turner and Louise Harthcock Turner. 

BJ dedicated her life to both her family and her career serving as a Price Comparison Representative at Kroger until her retirement. Her contributions were valued, and she was known for her meticulous work ethic and commitment to service.

BJ loved God and her family. She adored her grandchildren and took pride in spoiling them as much as she could. She enjoyed being outdoors and bird watching. She loved listening to music and dancing. She was known for her affection towards her 4-legged best friend, Dollie and spoiled her often.

She had an engaging personality that drew people in. Those who knew BJ often remarked on her warmth and kindness, which shone through in her interactions with others. She was a person who embraced life with joy and encouraged those around her to do the same.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Barron; her mother, Louise Martin; her father, Bill Turner; her sister, Shirley Gooch, and brothers, Carl Turner, James Turner, and Kenneth Turner.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Hopkins, Vickie (Ken) Robinson, and Angie (Justin) McCardle; grandchildren, Robby (Miranda) Bell, Dakota Hammonds, Nicolette Barron, Lily McCardle, Knox McCardle, and Slade McCardle; her great grandchildren, Nevaeh Barron, Tres, Colun, and Anderson Bell. She also leaves behind her best friend, Eddie Corban, nephew, Ronnie McWilliams, and niece, Melissa (Greg) Hale.

Visitation will be held at the Chancellor Funeral Home Byram Location in Byram, Mississippi, on November 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on November 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will take place at the same location on November 14, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, Mississippi, at 12:00 PM.
