Billie Irene Williams-Byrd

Billie Irene Williams Byrd passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Jackson, MS. She was 87 years old.  The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Star Baptist Church in Star, MS. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Billie was born on February 15, 1936, in Mississippi. She lived most of her life in Star where she was a member of Star Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and playing jokes. She loved taking care of Senior Citizens and teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Mrs. Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margaret Williams and her birth mother, Ruth Sherrill; husband, Charles Lavon Byrd; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son, David Byrd (Robin) of Star; daughters, Connie Byrd Myers (David) of Star and Donna Cheryl Fontanille (Tom) of Star; grandchildren, Rodney Gordon, Justin Gordon (Chrissy), Adam Byrd (Brandy), Dana Cox (Brent), Daniel Byrd (Erika), Hannah Evans (Derrick), Tony Fontanille (Amber) and Eric Fontanille (Annie); great grandchildren, Brayden Gordon, Malachi Byrd, Jake Gordon, Jamison Byrd, Carson Evans, Wren Evans, Savannah Cox, Madelyn Cox, Bradie Blair, Eliana Blair, Adriana Byrd, Juliana Byrd, Charley Kate Gordon, Dean Fontanille, Erin Fontanille, and Abbey Fontanille; and five sisters.
