Billy Ray Albright, 84, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his home in Terry, MS. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Tuesday, October 05, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 06, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery in Terry, MS. Bill was born in Jackson, MS on January 12, 1937. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army MS National Guard and very proud of his 25-year-long career as a City of Jackson fire fighter, from which he retired as a Captain. Bill loved playing softball and basketball with the city and church, especially with his son, Jay. He also invested a lot of time into enriching other kids’ lives through coaching. He continued to play basketball all the way up to the age of 79. He was an Ole Miss fan. Most of all, Bill loved his family, his grandchildren, and his church, Highland Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Albright and Willie Patterson Albright. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Martin Albright; son, Jay Albright; grandchildren, Chloe (Blake) Carpenter and Avery (Rene) Albright; and great-granddaughter, Addison Carpenter.
