Billy Sims

Billy Sims, 77, of Star, died January 15, 2011 at Regency Hospital.\ \ Visitation is scheduled from 5 until 8:00 PM Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home, Florence and one hour prior to the 11:00 AM Funeral Service at Star Baptist Church. Burial will be in Star Cemetery.\ \ A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Sims had lived in Star since 1973, moving there from Pearl. A US Navy veteran, he worked with Big 10 Tire for 23 years and later retired from Trilogy Communications. Mr. Sims was a member of Star Baptist Church.\ \ Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his son Todd Sims.\ \ He is survived by his wife of 53 years Martha Sims of Star; Sons Shaine (Tonya) Sims of Star, Marty (Rusty) Sims of Crystal Springs, and Rodney (Sharon) Sims of Florence; Daughter-in-law Cindy Sims of Star;Brother Dewey Sims of Memphis; Sister Helen Sims of Tomnolan, MS; Seven grandchildren and one great grandson.\
