Bob Johnson

Bob Johnson, 85, was born March 23, 1926, and died December 13, 2011. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Byram. Services will be Friday, December 16, 2011, at 10am at the church. Interment will follow at Natchez National Cemetery at 1:30pm in Natchez, MS. Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram in charge of arrangements.\ \ A native of Erie, PA, Bob lived in the Jackson area since 1955 with his wife Freida and family for most of his adult life. He was a Seaman First Class on the USS Wilkes-Barre from March 15, 1944 until May 5, 1946. He was in Tokyo Bay at the signing of the treaty ending the war.\ \ He is preceded in death by his wife Freida Johnson. Survivors include his children, Barbara Gable (Ty) of Indianapolis, IN, Chip Johnson (Cindy) of Madison, MS, Kitty Perry (Andy) of Laurel, MS, and Nancy Pierce (Rob) of Ruston, LA. Grandsons: Dan Gable, Miles McCrillis Johnson, Chase and Brett Perry, Clark and Jackson Pierce; Granddaughters: Jenny Gable Phillips, Merrie Leigh Gable and Casey Jean Pierce and Great Grandson Benjamin Phillips.\ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745, or Chamberlain Hunt Academy.\ \ On line guest book available at www.chancellorfunealhome.com.\
