Bobbie Jean Barnes, 79, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. A graveside service will be Thursday, November 30th at 1:30 p.m. at Lorena Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh. Mrs. Bobbie loved balloons and requested that, instead of flowers, you bring balloons to the service. Bobbie was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. She loved to give. So much so, that her family said she would give her last penny away then search for another one to give away. Mrs. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband on November 3, 2017, Johnnie M. Barnes; parents, Earl and Virgie Mae Young; brothers, C.W. Thornton, James Thornton, Oree Thornton, Wayne Young, Cleal Young and John Young; sister, Carol Sue Spangler; and son-in-law, Jerry Simmons. She is survived by her children, Barbara Simmons of Byram, Beverly (Joey) Shows of Raymond and Dewayne (Pam) Barnes of Parsons, TN; brother, Howard (Lou Nell) Young of Pearl; sisters, Ovis (Dave) Crum of Pearl and Brenda (Douglas) Vaughn of Homewood; grandchildren, Tonya (Scotty) Wilkinson, Jeremy Simmons, Joel (Ashley) Barnes, Daniel Barnes, Rachel Barnes, Angus (Brittany) Roberts and Jonathan Shows; great grandchildren, Savannah Wilkinson and Weston James Barnes and lots of extended family and friends.
