Bobbie Thomas

Bobbie Jean Thomas, 76, died Friday July 2, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 4-8pm today and 9-10am Monday July 5, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services will be at 10am Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Florence Cemetery.\ \ A native Memphis, Mrs. Thomas lived most of her life in the Florence/ Richland area. She worked for many years in the Rankin County School District and later retired from Hinds Community College. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Richland and a member of the Royal Rose Red Hatters of Richland.\ \ She was preceded in death by her husband the late William I. "Billy" Thomas.\ \ Survivors include her Son, Glen I. (Debbie) Thomas of Richland. Daughter, Terri Thomas (Eddie) Elward or Florence. Brother, Jimmy (Wilma) McNabb of Florence. Sisters, Margaret Sowell of Memphis, TN and Linda Kay Murray of Goshen Springs. \ Sister-in-law Myrtle McNabb of Olive Branch. Grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Dear, Erin (James) Jenkins, Jana (Chas) Ball, Tyler Thomas, Ian (Samantha) Elward, Hunter Elward; Great-grandchildren Brooklyn Ball, Nimue Dear, Lilly Elward, Lilly Elward, and David Jenkins all of the Richland/Florence area. \ \ Memorials may be made to the Richland Library\
