Bobby Paul Amos, Sr., 72, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday, January 11, 2019 and 11:30am until the 1:00pm funeral service Saturday, January 12, 2019, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Mr. Amos was born in Jackson, MS to the late William Amos Sr. and Mary Walker Amos. He served his country in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service. He also retired as Human Resources Director from the VA Medical Center. Mr. Amos was a parishioner of St. Therese Catholic Church and parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jackson. He loved to play tennis and sing in the choir at the VA hospital. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and provider. He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Will” Amos, Sr. and Mary Amos; sister, Rosie Washington and brother, Robert Earl Amos, Sr. Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Rosalita Olmedo Amos of Jackson; sons, Bobby P. Amos, Jr. of Jackson, Tyrone P. Amos (Mandy) of Byram and Jason S. Amos of Jackson; brothers, Jesse Amos (Sarah) of Jackson, William Amos, Jr. of Jackson and Samuel Amos I of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Juanita Butler of Jackson, Barbara Ann Caldwell of Holly Springs and Mary A. Studaway of Jonesboro, GA; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
