Mrs. Boyce Verell

Mrs. Boyce Roebuck Verell, 91, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and again Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Mrs. Verell was born in Houston, MS to the late George and Minnie Roebuck. She was a very active member of Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson and was a graduate of the MSU School of Business where she was a Zeta Tau Alpha sorority member. She loved her family dearly and often volunteered at the schools her children attended. Mrs. Verell enjoyed travelling for both business and cattle farming endeavors with her husband of 60 years, Bennie Verell. She retired from MS State Board of Health accounting office in 1992. Mrs. Verell is preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Roebuck, her husband, Bennie, and 5 siblings. She is survived by her daughters; Karen (Jim) Maccarone of Byram, Retha (Greg) Gregory of Terry, and Alice (Jamey) Shannon of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Hardin, Rebecca Maccarone, Stephen Maccarone, Brittany (Jeramy) McClellan, Tyler Gregory, Jay (Jessica) Shannon, Logan (Kellie) Shannon, Ben Shannon, and 7 great grandchildren.
