Mrs. Brenda Joyce Lester

Brenda Joyce Lester, 68, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by her family at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21st from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 22nd from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland. Mrs. Lester was a long-time resident of Florence and a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting and making and doing things for craft shows and flea markets. She also enjoyed traveling as well as her job as a manufacturer in the Waste Water Industry. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, George and Odell Poole; brother George Arthur Poole and sister, Rita Virginia Maddox. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lester; son, Bryan (Alison) Hopson; daughter, Angela (Joe) Lacey; grandchildren, Emily Wednesday Hopson and William Caden Lacey; brothers, John Allen Poole, William Noy Poole and James David Poole; and sisters, Margaret Ann Dubaz and Dorothy Dell Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to the Colon Cancer Foundation in her name.
