Bruce Douglas Barber, May 1930 to March 5, 2015 left our side but not our hearts to cross over the river Jordan. He lived in Baton Rouge, LA until his retirement in 1983 from LSU. He lived in Middleburg, FL and Yerington, NV before coming to live in Florence, MS. He is survived by wife of 63 years, Thessie “Pat” Barber; 2 daughters, Linda (Richard) Hodges of Florence and Cathy Barber of Orange Park, FL; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly (Kurtis) Stevens of Denham Springs, LA, Shiloh (Jeremiah) Fuscello of Orange Park, FL and Kendall (Natasha) Ogden of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Elaine Kling of Gonzales, LA; 4 great grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Alexander, and Kendrick; 2 step granddaughters, Tommie (Joey) Turner and Holly (Rowdy) Yeates; numerous step great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; adopted brother, Connie Hodgeson; adopted son, Ted; many special loved ones adopted in our hearts; Bud Barber or Picayune, MS, Sheila Lind of Prairieville, LA and her baby girl Brenda who is in Heaven waiting on her Pawpaw, Darlene and Sonny Sibley of St. Amant, LA, Charlene Bishop and Stephanie (Matt) Peneguy of Plaquemine, LA, Lori Storey of Middleburg, FL, D.J. Lee of Prairieville, LA, and Roger B. of Baton Rouge; and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Iola, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and a daughter, Carol Kay. No Services are planned at this time.
