Bruce D. Wroten passed away on October 13, 2017 in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday, October 16, 2017 and 11:30am until the 12:30 pm funeral service Tuesday, October 17, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Garden. Bruce was born on June 18, 1933 in Union, MS. He had 3 brothers, Ike, Jack and Ray who he was close with. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War as an Electrician on the same ship with his brother, Jack. He went on to have a long career with Armstrong World Industries as Shop Foreman of the Electrical Shop. Bruce married Barbara Jean Ainsworth in Starved Rock, Illinois. They resided in Jackson and had three sons, Nikki, Robin and Lance, whom they loved dearly. Bruce was close with his family and always made sure they had a loving home. His surviving sons, Nikki & Robin visited him often, sitting around his table, talking and laughing. He had a special relationship with his grand-daughters, Allison & Jessica. They all loved sitting on his back porch, watching the wildlife, and talking. Jessica named her son Graham Bruce Pelz after him. After Jean passed away, Bruce met Kay Fort-Child at their high school reunion and they were together 10 years until her passing. Bruce and Kaye traveled the world together and lived happily in Jackson. Everyone who knew Bruce knew what a kind, gentle, and generous person he was. Bruce had a quiet sense of humor and loved practical jokes. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Bruce is survived by his sons, Nikki Wroten, Robin Wroten, brother, Jack Wroten, grandchildren, Allison Baker & Jessica Pelz, and a great grandson Graham Bruce Pelz. He was the son of Burley Alton Wroten & Carrie Wroten.
